For this week, I am introducing
destruction of antiquities in a museum in Middle East Mosul. Graham Bowley and
Robert Mackey's article, "Destruction of Antiquities by ISIS Is
Denounced." stood out to me for some strange reason. Maybe it is because
of the word ‘destruction’ in the title. Throughout the article, they spoke
about how awful it was to be destroying ancient art to get to hidden valuables.
When it comes to the destruction of art, I agree with the writers. This is a selfish
desire for money and riches. If there were another way to get the treasures out
of the sculptures without completely destroying them, then maybe I would have a
different opinion.
