Blog Review 2/12 : Caleb Charland by Aline Smithson

This week, I am introducing Caleb Charland’s work. I found an article about Charland by Aline Smithson by going to the Night subject of Photographers on LensScratch. Night portraits have always caught my attention. This article spiked my interest when it came to figuring out what exactly I was viewing in each photo. Charland has a very original and unique way of producing photos. When you scroll through his blog, you have to take a minute to observe each photo carefully to interpret exactly what you are seeing. Some objects in Charland’s photos were inspired from remodeling family homes with his father. All photos are abstract, yet understanding. The photos almost seem to be two or more pictures merged together at first, but then come together to make one stimulating and distinctive photograph. Overall,  the article is portraying wonder and creativity. There is a quote by Charland that says, ““For me, wonder is a state of mind somewhere between knowledge and uncertainty.” I couldn’t agree more.
